"My comfort is, that old age, that ill layer-up of beauty, can do no more spoil upon my face" - William Shakespeare

"Age cannot wither her, nor custom stale
Her infinite variety: other women cloy
The appetites they feed: but she makes hungry
Where most she satisfies; for vilest things
Become themselves in her: that the holy priests
Bless her when she is riggish."

Antony and Cleopatra - Act II. Scene II.

Even if I hadn't already given my heart and soul to the clothes...bags...and overall vibe...of Phoebe Philo's CĂ©line...this image from their Fall/Winter ad campaign would have done it. Australian model Emma Balfour...who, in her late thirties, could only be considered 'old' in a land of prepubescent models...looking...spectacularly weary. Jaded, knowledgeable, and beautifully dressed...
