Another Labor Day weekend is upon us. And, as Labor Day was originally created as a day off for the "working man" (and is now more picnic/barbecue oriented), I thought it was fitting to write about something that I found on Dean & DeLuca's website. Well, I also found a Tahitian vanilla bean cake, shaped like a handbag and cover in pink fondant. But for $150 I could buy a real bag and still fit into my clothing. The "Working Class Hero" provides all the essentials for a Labor Day treat. Inside a classic lunchbox are caviar, crème fraîche, and a flask. Ok, so not all the essentials...blinis and chilled vodka need to be added...but I suppose you can't have everything. |
